Packraft America, a raft rental company, is giving teams registered for the Never Summer Race 20% off the day use of their rafts. They will be bringing their whole fleet to the race for use by 24 hour teams as well as 6 hour teams the next day. No shipping fees or multiple day rentals needed. Go to http://packraftamerica.com or click on the logo below to reserve your rental raft for the race. In the comments line, enter "Never Summer Race." You will be charged 50% up front, and then Packraft America will charge you 30% once you turn in the raft to honor the 20% discount.

Backcountry Packraft Rentals is offering 15% of rentals of their Alpacka Gnus. Use promo code neversummer17. Go to http://www.backcountrypackrafts.com or click on their logo below to reserve your rental raft for the race.

6 Hour Racers: If you have never heard of packrafting or have never tried it, we encourage you to use one of these companies and experience what a quality raft is like to inflate as well as paddle in. However, the river you will be on is not technical, and other rafts or tubes will be accepted. Your body does need to be completely afloat (required by permit), so a boogie board, noodle, or other small flotation device will not be accepted. Teams of 2, 3, or 4 are allowed to use any combination of rafts (i.e. a 2 person team can have 2 solo rafts or 1 tandem). There will be a boat/raft drop off prior to the race, so you will not be required to carry your raft or inflate your raft during the race. If you have questions regarding a specific flotation device or raft, please feel free to email me: ktmford@hotmail.com

24 Hour Racers: You need a legit packraft or inflatable kayak! Depending on the snow run off and water levels, you may encounter class III rapids and more technical maneuvering. Teams of 2, 3, or 4, solo or tandem packrafts/kayaks are allowed in any combination. (i.e. 3 person team: 1 solo + 1 tandem, or, 3 solo rafts.) It is not recommended to fit 3 people onto a 2 person (tandem) raft. It'll be tight and may make steering difficult.  You will be required to carry the raft and paddle gear for a short distance as well as inflate the raft during the course, so we recommend a packraft over an inflatable kayak.
