Not only is it more fun and better for the environment, but it will help ensure that all racers get to park near the race start/finish on race day.
Main race day parking is located at the Heronry at Chatfield State Park. There are 103 parking spaces here. Please arrive early to ensure you get to park onsite rather than in overflow parking near the Gravel Pond.
You'll want to plan to arrive early enough to drop off boats at the Gravel Pond staging area, and gear and bikes at the Heronry, and get packets and swag picked up prior to the race meetings. The heronry and boat drop off areas are approximately a 3-4 minute drive away from each other.
If you need more details about the boat requirements, see here.
The race is in Chatfield State Park, and while we have a race permit, each vehicle in the park is also required to carry a parks pass for the day of the event. If you have an active annual State Parks Pass, this will qualify. Otherwise, you'll need to purchase a day pass at the gate, per vehicle. The cost is $8 for a day pass, or $70 for a year pass. The year pass is good for all Colorado State Parks.
